Continued collaboration on the project
The results of this project, which provided a new perspective on the study of the plasma ignition systems for internal combustion engines, require further research in the practical implementation of the proposed system on a bench engine. Meetings with different industrial partners from France gives us hope to realize this goal.
Based on experimental results obtained in 2010, after finalizing the data processing, will propose two additional scientific papers concerning the spark plasma diagnostic. This diagnosis refers to determining the rotational and vibrational temperature of the particles and their density existing in the plasma.
The first paper will trace the influence of the target area on the spectroscopic diagnosis. The region produced by spark discharges of two double spark was divided into five zones, as described in the scientific report. The second refers to the influence of duration and pulse waveform applied by the designed power supply on the same diagnosis.
On the other hand, the two partners involved in this project have established a continuing program of activities to be involved in two French students in their undergraduate studies and a master novel, already involved in the project, which will begin a Ph.D. between the Orleans University (France) and Technical University "Gh Asachi" Iasi (in 2011).
During the visit the Romanian project manager will perform in January-February 2011 as a visiting French lab partner, it will establish and oversee the work program for the physical and chemical analysis of combustion achieved in a metal chamber with all the extent necessary for that purpose. PhD student will benefit in future from February to May next year the Erasmus action in the Laboratory GREMI - Site Bourges. The results from this stage will be his dissertation for the Master followed at Technical University "Gh. Asachi" Iasi.
Meanwhile the leaders of the two research teams seeking the submission of a FP7 European project type to be involved in, outside of them, yet two partners: the first from a university in Poland and the second from a university in the Czech Republic. Discussions on this issue will be finalized until the end of this year.
